Designing beautiful gardens with heart
Johanna is passionate about gardens, design and all things subtropical and shares her enthusiasm for all regularly, as a garden design writer and as a contributor on Houzz. Johanna began My Verandah in 2004 to focus her energies on her love of creating beautiful gardens, for beautiful people. She’s had the privilege of designing residential gardens for clients in Sydney, Brisbane, Toowoomba, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast & Northern NSW. Her expertise is as expansive as her clients are varied. She is as comfortable helping couples design their ideal courtyard garden in the West End of Brisbane or inner city Sydney, as she is working on a master plan for a 100 acre property in Northern NSW.
Design Process
When meeting with Johanna for the first time you will begin the process with a consultation at your home, to discuss your garden vision and desired outcome. Throughout the one hour consultation, Johanna will provide design ideas and suggestions for improvements, you are encouraged to ask questions and take notes. Johanna will follow up with an individualised electronic mood board of concepts discussed as a visual recap of your meeting. The Initial consultation fee is $495 + GST. Subsequent meetings are charged at the hourly rate of $220.
If during the initial consultation you decide that you would like to proceed with a comprehensive garden concept plan, Johanna will provide a fee proposal when she provides details of the mood board.
Included in the comprehensive garden concept plan are garden plans and notes detailing all aspects of the garden design. The completed plans can then be shared with a talented team of garden makers who help bring the design to life.
